If you love shrimp, you’re going to love 4 ingredient shrimp dip! This is actually a recipe I’ve been using for years and years – decades even. It was one of the first recipes I ever learned how to make. I actually learned it from someone else who had been making it for decades, so this is a tried and true recipe. It’s also incredibly easy to double if you’re expecting company, though I make a single batch because it’s so good I often eat the entire thing!
Ingredients for 4 ingredient shrimp dip
1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
1 4 oz can tiny shrimp
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp garlic powder
And that’s all there is to it! The fact that you use one block of cream cheese per can of shrimp is why it’s so easy. You only need to make 4 ingredient shrimp dip once to know the recipe by heart!

Directions:
First, start by softening the cream cheese. You want it to be pretty soft, so leave it out on the counter (in the package) for a few hours.
Next, drain the can of shrimp really well. You want it to be pretty dry. Sometimes, depending on the brand of shrimp I buy, I rinse the shrimp too, but that isn’t always necessary.
Add the cream cheese, shrimp, milk, and garlic powder to a small bowl. I always use the Pampered Chef small batter bowl, but you can use any mixing bowl you have.
Mix well using a fork, or an electric mixer. A lot of times I use the immersion blender because I don’t like chunks in my dip and can’t mix it as well with a fork.
Chill for 2 hours.

Serve 4 ingredient shrimp dip with chips, veggies, crackers, pita chips, or anything else your heart desires! I like to serve it with very salty chips or crackers. I feel that the salty and creamy go really well together. You’ll also want to use a thicker chip if you choose chips – a thinner chip won’t hold such a heavy dip well.

can opener – to open the can of shrimp
kitchen scissors – to cut open the cream cheese packaging
fork – to mix the dip

Questions People Ask:
4 ingredient shrimp dip is a combination of cream cheese, tiny shrimp, and garlic that results in a delicious dip for crackers, chips, pita chips, and even can be heated up and used on pasta.
You can store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Sometimes after sitting in the refrigerator the dip will collect a bit of condensation. All you have to do is stir it up and enjoy.
I don’t recommend freezing any dairy based recipes, because while they always freeze well, they tend to separate when thawing.
I suggest making it ahead! Because the dip is better cool, the longer you refrigerate it before serving, the better. I recommend refrigerating it overnight if possible, but 2 hours is the minimum.
This dip would be excellent with some crab meat in it. You can also spice it up by adding some chili sauce or cocktail sauce. A tiny bit of grated horseradish would also do the trick when it comes to making things spicy.
