White Bean Dip Game Day Recipe

Delicious White Bean Dip! Cannellini Beans and fresh garlic make for tasty game day fare. www.themoodyblonde.com

If you asked me if I was into bean dip, I’d tell you I definitely wasn’t. Until now. Turns out white bean dip is a great addition to a game day menu. It is quick and easy to make – and your guests are sure to love the variety of flavors packed into each bite. Whether you serve it with chips, bread, or veggies, this dip will be a game changer!

As an added bonus, White Bean Dip is a whole lot healthier for you than some other game day options. You can indulge a little more with less guilt!

Makes 6 Servings

Ingredients for Healthy White Bean Dip:

1 15 oz. can cannellini beans, drained and rinsed
3 cloves fresh garlic, peeled
2 T. fresh lemon juice
2 – 3 large fresh sage leaves, chopped
1/3 c. regular extra virgin olive oil
1 T. high-quality extra virgin olive oil
salt and pepper, to taste
dash cayenne pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Add beans, fresh garlic, lemon juice, sage leaves, and olive oil to a food processor or blender (I love to use my NINJA blender for this!)  and blend until smooth.

Pour the mixture into a serving bowl and season to taste with salt and pepper. Immediately before serving, stir in a dash of cayenne pepper and drizzle high-quality extra virgin olive oil over the top.

Serve your white bean dip with chips or veggies of choice.

That’s all there is to it! Makes you wonder why you’ve been shying away from bean dip all along, doesn’t it?

Can you freeze it?

I wouldn’t suggest freezing white bean dip. It may separate when thawing.

Can I make it ahead?

Sure! I would save the olive oil for when you’re ready to serve, but other than that, it’s perfectly acceptable to make this dip the day before the big game.

What should I dip in it?

You can dip anything you want in Healthy White Bean Dip, but the most common choices are chips, tortilla chips, and veggies like celery and carrots.

White bean dip is SO much better than hummus! I love how it takes on different flavors much more easily.

We are a dipping kinda family and I have made a wide range of dips, mostly unhealthy. Lately I have been trying to make healthier options and I haven’t tried to make a white bean dip before. Thanks for sharing this recipe. I plan to try this on our next family night.

My wife and I eat a fairly decent amount of hummus, we both love it! I’d really like to try this white bean dip with pretzels, pita chips, carrots and other vegetables. Seems like a great alternative to the not so healthy store bought dips!
