15 ways to Use Avocados

I've been trying to stick to a relatively low-carb diet. This doesn't mean that I'm doing keto for sure, but pasta and sugary snack foods are definitely out. If you're a carb addict like me, this type of dietary change leaves you pretty hungry! One of the ways that I stay full is with avocados. They're so good for you and so versatile. You can use them in so many ways! Here are some fun facts about avocados you may not know:

Source

  1. Avocados are considered berries because they have a seed and a soft flesh.
  2. While they are technically fruits, avocados contain only trace amounts of sugar.
  3. Most of the avocados consumed in the US are from Mexico.
  4. One third of a medium avocado contains 6g of naturally good fat per serving.
  5. Most of the fat in avocados comes from fatty acids called oleic acid, which are the same fatty acids found in olive oil.
  6. Avocados don't contain any cholesterol or sodium.
  7. Avocados also contain almost 20 vitamins, minerals, and phytonutrients, including Vitamins C, E, K, B9, and B5.
  8. Avocado has only 4 grams of carbohydrates per serving!

And my favorite reason of all to eat avocados? They're great for weight loss!

Avocados Are Great For Weight Loss

According to research, avocados are great when it comes to weight loss. The high amount of fiber found in an avocado directly helps with weight reduction by helping make you feel fuller and avoid snacking frequently during the day.

This in turn will also provide you with a lot of energy and at the same time, improve your metabolism. This is why it is so good to include avocados in your regular diet. They are actually healthier for you than consuming high-fat or salty foods that only add on more calories!

One of my favorite and easy ways to eat them is on toast. I mash up some avocado, add some Everything Bagel Seasoning, and spread it on my toast. It's super simple and my daughter and I love having it for breakfast!

With all of these health benefits, it seems like we should be eating more avocados, right? But I'm picky. And I'm not going to just sit there and eat an avocado. SO I scoured the internet for ideas. As usual!  Here's what some of my favorite bloggers are doing with avocados:
