Best Crazy Hair Day Ideas for girls

Today was crazy hair day at school! It’s one of our favorite days of the year. My little has some pretty long and thick hair, so we have more options than some parents. (I’m sorry, boy moms! I feel like you’re getting ripped off!) Anyway, here are some of our favorite crazy hair day ideas for girls.

Coffee and a Donut

This one was really super easy and my favorite of all of them. We cut a hole in a plate and pulled the hair through and made a bun. Then I used a bobby pin to pin some donut frosting felt on top. Finally, I glued a dollar store coffee cup to the plate. I did write her name on it, but obviously, I censored that for blog purposes.

Spider

For this one, we went with another bun (see a theme here?) and then pulled sparkly pipe cleaners through the center of it for legs. The eyes are made of pom poms, glue, and alligator clips. This is seriously a 5 minute idea. Super easy and works well around Halloween.

Octopus

This one took a looooooonnnnnnggggg time to put together. Basically, I made 8 braids and then pulled the rest of the hair into a bun. It’s secured with bobby pins and a glow bracelet! The eyes are rolled up sparkly pipe cleaners and google eyes. We used hair chalk to color it up a bit. I don’t recommend this idea if you’re short on time. We were almost late for school.

You can also just go with some funky bows – check out these for example:

This list is just a start. There are a million other ideas too, depending on the amount of time and patience you have. The one tip I have is to get as crazy as you can. Sure, I would have rather spent an hour doing something other than making tiny octopus braids, but someday she won’t want to do crazy hair day anymore and I’ll truly miss it!
